Avian Health and Food Safety Laboratory

Avian Health and Food Safety Laboratory (WADDL) is part of Washington State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. The state of the art diagnostic laboratory, located at WSU Puyallup, provides diagnostic services including complete necropsy, bacteriology, mycology, virology, serology and DNA testing of all avian species. Services are also provided to back yard poultry, waterfowl, wild birds, zoo birds and rabbits. Visit the Avian Health and Food Safety Laboratory web site for more information.

Plant & Insect Diagnostic Laboratory

Offers assistance with resolving problems with plants and insects through accurate diagnoses. We also provide applicable management options to a numerous state clientele like commercial growers, pest control operators, home gardeners, consultants, county agents, Master Gardeners, and research personnel. Rentals

The WSU Puyallup Research and Extension Center offers a comfortable and professional meeting environment, and invites you to make use of our well appointed D.F. Allmendinger Center. We also have available to our WSU affiliates a Guest Cottage and Guest House Rooms for those personnel having business at WSU Puyallup. Call us at 253-445-4554 or toll free at 866-458-0195. D.F. Allmendinger Center

The D.F. Allmendinger Center is a self-sustaining public facility that may be rented for meetings and events. It has a building capacity of 250 people and seating arrangements available for 126. Rental is for the building only and does not include the exterior areas.

Meeting Rental Rates

The Allmendinger Center can be divided into three meeting rooms by the use of movable walls.

Room A (near end) has two 8' conference tables and seating for 16 people.

Room B (center) seats 30 people with tables. This section has an electronic projection screen that can be used for presentations.

Room C (far end) seats 32 people with tables.

The rental cost for each room is:

  • $80.00 per 1 use period
  • $100.00 per 2 use periods
  • $140.00 per 3 use periods

To rent the entire building (Rooms A/B/C including kitchen facilities):

  • $150.00 per 1 use period
  • $225.00 per 2 use periods
  • $275.00 per 3 use periods

Event Rental Rates

For events, the rental fees are as follows:

  • 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight): $575.00
  • 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight): $375.00
  • After 12:00 a.m. (midnight): $75.00 per hour (MUST be paid in advance)

SATURDAY EVENTS REQUIRE THE FULL RENTAL COST OF $575.00. Full payment is due one month prior to the rental date. A refundable deposit of $500.00* is required at time of booking. Discounts are available for WSU employees and alumni. Police or WSU staff may be required to be in attendance at the cost of the renter. See our Rental Agreement for a complete overview. *Deposit may be waived for WSU Puyallup employees.

Guest House Rooms

Availability is limited to personnel affiliated with Washington State University having business at WSU Puyallup. Room rates are as follows:

Single Occupancy:

  • $25.00 per night
  • $55.00 per week
  • $110.00 per month

Double Occupancy (per person):

  • $20.00 per night
  • $50.00 per week
  • $95.00 per month

*Note: Length of stay limited to 3 months unless a graduate student.

Guest Cottage

Availability is limited to personnel affiliated with Washington State University having business at WSU Puyallup. Room rates are as follows:

  • $150.00 per month + utilities
